Day honored

 


Ms. Norma Patrick presents the Special Education Award to Allison Day

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.—Allison Day received the Education Department’s Special Education Award during the 50th annual Honors Day Convocation at University of the Cumberlands.

The daughter of Paula and David Day of Whitesburg, Hatter is a senior education major with a minor in Spanish who will earn dual certification in elementary education and P-12 special education. She will graduate magna cum laude with a GPA of 3.85, and she received the ETS Recognition of Excellence for her performance on the PRAXIS, the national teaching examination. Day has been a resident director, a worship planning leader for Baptist Campus Ministries, and she has served with mission teams in New Orleans, Michigan, Alabama and Georgia. She will pursue a teaching position this fall.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study; 30 minors; nine pre-professional programs; graduate degrees, including a doctorate and certifications in education; an MBA; and online programs.
