Cumberlands Show Choir to perform

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands Show Choir, directed by Dr. Jeff Smoak, will hold its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 2, in the Nell Moore Recital Hall of the Grace Crum Rollins Center on campus. The Choir will be accompanied by UC music instructor Kay Dawn McFarland on piano.

Part one, “The Sacred Concert,” features spiritual arrangements such as Dan Davison’s “Shout for Joy! (Psalm 98)” and Geron Davis’ “On Holy Ground.” Laura King will accompany the Choir on flute at the beginning of “The Sacred Concert.”

Part two, “A Trip Back in Time,” will pay tribute to the Carpenters, Simon and Garfunkel, Broadway and Jazz with selections such as “Yesterday Once More” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The UC Jazz Ensemble will join the Show Choir during Mac Huff’s “Big Band Bash” to close the evening.
