Dr. Barry Vann to speak at Phi Alpha Theta lecture series

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands’ Upsilon-Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta presents the next lecture of the 2008-2009 lecture series at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 17 in the Bennett Auditorium on campus.

Dr. Barry Vann, professor of Education and Geography and Doctor of Education program, will present the lecture titled, “Israel in the Emerging World of Muhammad.” Dr. Vann holds two doctorates, including a unique Ph.D. dually awarded by the Faculties of Geography and Earth Science and Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Since 1998, he has published three books that connect real and imagined communities created by government policies on Northern Ireland to Protestant migrations to British North America. His writings have also appeared as articles in the Journal of Transatlantic Studies, Historical Sociology, Geographies of Religions and Belief Systems, and Human Resource Development Quarterly.
