Maiden Drug Awards $2,000 to Scholarship Winners

Williamsburg, Ky. - Maiden Drug, located in Williamsburg, recently donated $1,000 scholarships to two local high school graduates. Mirissa Cumpston, of Whitley County High School, and Brittani Peters, of Williamsburg High School, received this year's Deborah Carol Childress Memorial Scholarship.

In 2005, University of the Cumberlands alumni and owners of Maiden Drug, Roger and Jonathan Powers, established the scholarship in honor of their late niece. One high school graduate from Williamsburg Independent School and one from Whitley County High School are awarded the scholarship each year. The students must be education majors, currently enrolled at University of the Cumberlands.
