Cumberlands ROTC to hold Memorial Service on September 11

On July 4, 2008, 3000 American flags fly on the lawn at HSB

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – To mark the seventh year following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the ROTC at University of the Cumberlands will host a quiet memorial service to honor the lives lost in one of the greatest tragedies of the new century.

The flag-folding ceremony will be held on September 11th at 5:00 p.m. in Cumberlands’ Patriot Park, in the midst of 3000 American flags, which will again be placed on the grounds of the Hutton School of Business Building as they were on July 4th this year. Patriot Park is the site where a shaft of steel from the World Trade Center and a replica of the Liberty Bell stand as monuments to America’s strength and love of liberty and to its resilience in the face of tragedy.
