Dr. York Speaks at University of the Cumberlands

Williamsburg, Ky - On Monday, October 3, University of the Cumberlands welcomed Dr. Hershael York to speak at the convocation ceremony. York focused mainly on the element of temptation and overcoming the human desire to act on impulse.

"Delay gratification of life, until you can experience pleasure," he said, encouraging the attending audience that God has an afterlife plan far greater than the pleasures experienced on earth. York also pleaded with the audience to stay true to their Christian values and to represent the Christian faith in a positive manner. "The question is not what you don't do, it's what you do do."

Dr. York is the pastor of Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort, Ky. He currently serves on Southern Baptist Theological Seminary’s staff and is the president of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

University of the Cumberlands was honored to have Dr. York share his message with the students, faculty and staff.
