Shemwell Receives A.T. Siler Memorial Award


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- University of the Cumberlands is proud to announce that Amy Shemwell of Trenton, Ky., is the recipient of the A.T. Siler Memorial Award.

Shemwell, the daughter of John and Patricia Shemwell, is majoring in public health. She has been a cheerleader for the past three years at Cumberland. Shemwell has also worked in the English department, been a STAR with UC’s Insights program, worked with Mountain Outreach, been active in Campus Ministry’s family group, and worked with the Student Government Association where she has held the position as Chief of Staff, Senator, and Attorney General.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 119th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
