Coca-Cola executive to speak at Cumberlands on Friday


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Mary Page Platerink, Director, Strategy for the Global Customer & Commercial Leadership team at The Coca-Cola Company will speak at University of the Cumberlands Friday. The lecture is sponsored by Cumberlands' Phi Beta Lambda (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter. It will begin at 10 a.m. on April 18 in the Congressman Hal Rogers Technology Center, Room 106, in the Hutton School of Business on the UC campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The Coca-Cola Company has operations in over 192 countries around the world. The Global Customer & Commercial Leadership team manages the Coca-Cola System's global relationship with its top 22 customers and leads it in commercial capability building. Platerink is responsible for development of the Global Customer & Commercial 3-year strategic plan as well as its annual plan.

Prior to her current role, Platerink was responsible for rolling out Coca-Cola's new Global Planning Model across the company's top 22 markets and key global functions. Before joining Coca-Cola in 2003, Platerink participated in two turnarounds for Fujitsu Services in the United Kingdom and practiced law with two large law firms in Atlanta.

Platerink received a BA in English/Chemistry from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
