Strunk Awarded H.N. and Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship

 


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Sarah Strunk, of Williamsburg, was awarded an H.N. and Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship and was inducted into the J. T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society during the University of the Cumberlands Honor’s Day service held April 23.

Strunk is a senior majoring in business administration and secondary math education with a minor in Spanish. She plans to teach high school math after graduation.

The H. N. & Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund was established at University of the Cumberlands in 1983 by Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Berger to recognize exceptionally bright young people who have demonstrated high academic ability.

To receive JTV recognition, a student must have completed at least 96 semester hours as a full-time student and have a 3.5 standing or better each semester. The student must also have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 118th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, graduate degrees and certifications in education as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
