Elrod is the daughter of Dale and Brenda Elrod of Cleveland, Tenn. She graduated from Cumberlands in January with Summa Cum Laude Honors and a major in accounting. She has been inducted into the J. T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society and is a Presidential Scholar. Elrod was a recipient of the Knoxville Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants Scholarship, the Kentucky Society of CPA’s Scholarship, the Christian Leadership Scholarship and the Community Service Scholarship. At Cumberlands, she was a member of the Campus Activity Board, a Mountain Outreach and Appalachian Ministries volunteer and served as Campus Ambassador and Telecounselor for the Office of Admissions. Elrod is now employed full-time at Richard Banks & Associates, private counsel in Cleveland. She has been accepted to several law schools and will be attending law school in the fall.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 118th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, graduate degrees and certifications in education as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
