Executive Director-Treasurer of Ky.'s WMU Speaks at Convocation

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Joy Bulton, executive director-treasurer of Kentucky’s woman's missionary union (WMU), spoke at University of the Cumberlands convocation ceremony on Wednesday, April 11.

While at Cumberlands, Bulton said that she couldn’t imagine her life without the WMU or missions.

“Every time I have chosen to trust God, He has been faithful,” she said.

She also talked about her many years dedicated to WMU and Girls in Action (GA). During her service to the organizations, Bulton has traveled to Korea and Rwanda for missions.

Bulton urged students to become missionaries and said that all Christians should minister, no matter their vocation.

“Ministry is not an option,” she said.

Bulton is a native of New Orleans. She is a graduate of Mississippi College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. As a part of her seminary studies, she was one of the first seminary interns with the national WMU office in 1978.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 118th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, graduate degrees and certifications in education as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
