Concert Band and Chorale Concert to be held Monday

Allow the music to soothe your soul and strengthen your spirit at University of the Cumberlands' Concert Band and Chorale Concert, Monday, April 23.

Recent loss of a young friend's life inspired UC student Grant Doepel to write "For Now, My Friend," which will premier during the program. With the tragedy of the Virginia Tech massacre fresh on minds, this song serves as a balm upon the collective heart.

Others include William Latham's "Psalm 148" and Bach's timeless "Who Puts His Trust in God Most Just," as well as Chorale Director David Etter's own arrangement of "Amazing Grace!"

The Chorale joins the Concert Band, directed by Seane Greene, for this special evening's performance, which also features student conductors Adam Cox and Greg Bruce.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Kohn Theatre on campus, and admission is free. For more information, contact the UC Music Department at 539-4332.
