Katie Houck to perform recital

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The theme is timely, and the message is sure to inspire. University of the Cumberlands presents senior soprano Katie Houck in recital at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.

With selections ranging from Handel's "He Was Despised" from "Messiah" to various modern songs by Mark Hayes, the program offers opportunity for praise and personal reflection. Other classical works include those by Mozart, Schubert and Mendelssohn. Houck, the daughter of John and Debra Houck of Beckley, West Virginia, presents this recital in partial fulfillment for the bachelor's of music in church music degree.

The recital location is the Nell Moore Recital Hall of the Grace Crum Rollins Fine Arts Center on the UC campus, and admission is free. For more information, contact the UC Music Department at 606-539-4332.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 118th year of operation.
