Campus Discovery Day to be Held at Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands will hold its first Campus Discovery Day of the semester Saturday, February 17. Each year, the university holds three Campus Discovery Days to introduce prospective students and their parents to many aspects of college life, including academics, faculty, athletics, campus activities, financial aid and the admissions process. The final Campus Discovery Day of the semester is scheduled for Saturday, March 31.

“On a typical Saturday, students do not often have the chance to meet with faculty and students. Nor do they have the opportunity to visit classes and experience first-hand what the university has to offer,” said Erica Harris, director of admissions. “Because hectic work and school schedules prevent many families from visiting during the week, we want to expose them to as much as possible on these designated Saturdays,” she said.

For prospective students, Campus Discovery Day consists of a question-and-answer session with currently enrolled students, a “mock” class with a professor, a session about college academics, and the opportunity to meet individually with professors in a departmental browsing session. Parents also have the opportunity to talk to financial aid counselors. Lunch and a tour of campus conclude the day’s events. For those interested, free basketball tickets are provided to see the Patriots take on the Georgetown Tigers. The women’s game begins at 2 p.m., and the men’s game follows.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. For reservations or more information, call the Admissions Office at (606) 539-4241 or 1-800-343-1609. You may also reserve your spot online at
