Cumberlands Music Faculty’s Work Published in International Journal

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Sean Greene’s latest composition for two tubas has been selected for publication in this quarter’s International Tuba Euphonium Association Journal’s “Gem Series”. The work, “Si y Si,” is in the Latin style and was inspired by Greene’s experiences as a performer in Mexico during the fall of 2004. Other composers whose works have been included in the Gem Series include performer/musicologist Gunther Schuller, John Stevens and Hungarian composer Roland Szentpali.

Greene teaches low brass and directs the marching and concert bands at University of the Cumberlands. He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts university in it 117th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs.
