Ozma of Oz Performed at the Cumberland College Theatre

The Cumberland College theatre returned to Oz with the production of Ozma of Oz, June 9 - 11, in the Kohn Theatre on campus.

The production featured Cumberland College students and several area residents, including many local children. Megan Blakely of Williamsburg played the part of Dorothy, whose adventure involves a talking chicken named Bill (played by Jesse Hanson of Corbin), as well as other interesting characters such as Ozma (played by Williamsburg resident Amber Conn), Princess Langwidere, Tik Tok , and the Gnome King - Roquat of the Rocks (played by Cumberland College students Mandy Dowd, Shai Bugg and Jonathan Webster, respectively).

Based on the Oz book series by L. Frank Baum and the sequel to The Land of Oz, the play finds Dorothy blown ashore by yet another storm while traveling by ship to Australia with her Uncle Henry (played by Mike Lawson, also of Williamsburg). The colorful set and costumes enhanced an experience of great family fun in this play for all ages.
