Foy Underwood Earns Fitness and Sport Management Award


Williamsburg, KY- University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Foy Andrew Underwood with the Fitness and Sport Management Award during the Fifty-Fifth Annual Honors Day held April 27th in the Gatliff Chapel on UC’s campus.

Underwood (Lexington, KY) earned the 2014 award from the Health, Exercise and Sport Science department for his dedication and excellence in the classroom.

In addition, Underwood was also named to the J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society. In order to be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least 96 semester hours as a full-time student and have a 3.5 standing or better each semester. The student must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better. Students who have transferred to the University have a different set of rules depending on G.P.A. and number of hours taken at UC.

Underwood was also named to the University’s Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.70 cumulative grade point average standing.

He is the husband of Tasha Underwood and the son of Lamar and Lesley Underwood. He will graduate with a concentration in Fitness and Sport Management and a Business Administration major.

His future plans include earning a Master’s and pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership with the career goal of returning to a college setting.
