Bethany Bargo Heming receives Middle School Education Award


Williamsburg, KY- University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Bethany Bargo Heming (Bowling Green, KY) with the Middle School Education Award during the Fifty-Fifth Annual Honors Day held April 27th in the Gatliff Chapel on UC’s campus.

Each year, the undergraduate Education Department recognizes students for excellence in the areas of elementary, middle school, secondary, and special education certification.

Heming’s major is Middle School Education with specializations in Mathematics & Social Studies. She achieved a near perfect overall grade point average (GPA) and will be graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has been on the Dean’s List and President’s List many times. She is also a member of the J.T. Vallandingham Honor Society, Who’s Who Among University and College Students and the recipient of the Gorman Jones Scholarship in 2012. Heming is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, and served as secretary of Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society. She was also a UC Cheerleader.

Heming volunteers her time with the Barbourville Young Women Study Club and helps with the Locust Grove Baptist Church Acteen Group.

Heming was also named to the University’s High Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative grade point average standing.

She is the wife of Jeremy Heming and the daughter of Timothy and Regina Bargo.
