Hampton and Hipsher Receive Scholarship at UC

Williamsburg, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands (UC) honored Rachel Hampton (Hopkinsville, Ky.) and Amber Hipsher (Talbott, Tenn.) with the Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship at the 55th Honors Day on April 27, 2014 in Gatliff Chapel.

In order to be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, a student must be enrolled at University of the Cumberlands in the Fall 2014 semester, a member of University of the Cumberlands’ Upsilon Chapter, recognized as being competent, knowledgeable, and scholarly exhibits leadership in daily activities, classes and clinical experiences and exhibits promise of ultimately becoming a professional educator of distinction.


Amber Hipsher

Rachel Hampton is a senior Early Education major with an emphasis in Special Education. She hails from Hopkinsville, Ky.

In addition, Hampton was also named to the J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society. In order to be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least 96 semester hours as a full-time student and have a 3.5 standing or better each semester. The student must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better. Students who have transferred to the University have a different set of rules depending on G.P.A. and number of hours taken at UC.

Amber Hipsher is a senior Early Education major with an emphasis in Fine Arts (Art, Music, Theatre, PE). She hails from Talbott, Tenn.

Hampton and Hipsher were also named to the University’s High Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative grade point average standing.
