Daniel Toth receives awards at Honors Day


Williamsburg, KY. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Daniel Toth (Saint Charles, IL) with the T.E. Mahan Memorial Service Award during the Fifty-Fifth Annual Honors Day on Sunday, April 27, 2014.

The T. E. Mahan Memorial Service Award is awarded to a man of the junior class who possesses the qualities which indicate the potential for outstanding contributions to his community as well as manifesting the best qualities of potential service to society. Each candidate must possess good academic standing and accords himself with the high moral standards of the university.

Toth is the son of Dan and Debby Toth and is majoring in Accounting and Criminal Justice and serves as a resident hall assistant. Daniel came to UC to be a part of the Wrestling team and has been selected as captain of the team two times. As a freshman, he was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society and he is a member of the Hutton School of Business Club, PEAK Accounting team, the Justice League, and the Criminal Justice Club. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Life Group Bible Study at Cornerstone Community Church in Williamsburg, and the Worship Team Musician in Elburn, IL. He has volunteered for Relay for Life and for several college sporting events. He lists hobbies as relaxing with friends and family, reading, and playing the guitar and drums.

His coach describes him as, “One of the hardest working and most conscientious young men I have ever had the privilege to coach. He goes above and beyond in everything he does.”

In addition, Toth was named to the High Honor Roll. Students who earn this honor must have attained a minimum of a 3.85 cumulative standing. Upon graduation, Daniel plans to attend graduate school to pursue a MBA degree and sit for the CPA exam.
