Walter Blake Kusiak awarded and honored at UC’s 55th annual Honors Day


Williamsburg, Ky. – Walter Blake Kusiak (London, Ky.) was honored with the Gorman Jones Scholarship and named to the Honor Roll at the 55th annual Honors Day held in the Gatliff Chapel at University of the Cumberlands (UC) April 27, 2014.

The Gorman Jones Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student that shows evidence of strong academic proficiency. It is named after former Cumberlands professor Gorman Jones, who labored from 1891 until 1936 in service of local youth and the college.

Kusiak was also named to the University’s Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.70 cumulative grade point average standing.

Kusiak is a junior at UC where he is a biology and chemistry major.
