Sarah Pettit Earns Bella Bender-Lipps Award at Honors Day


Williamsburg, KY- University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Sarah Pettit (Richmond, Ky.) with the Bella Bender- Lipps art award at the Fifty-Fifth Annual Honors Day held Sunday, April 27th in the Gatliff Chapel on UC’s campus.

This award is given in honor of Bella Bender-Lipps, a great friend and supporter of visual art at the University. Every year this award is presented to an outstanding art major who exhibits the highest degree of talent and creative potential.

Sarah is the daughter of Eugene Pettit Jr. and Lisa Bargo and the stepdaughter of Randy Bargo. Sarah has a double major in Art Education and Theatre.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees more than 40 major fields of study; ten pre-professional programs; ten graduate degrees distributed over eight areas, including two doctorates and seven master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
