Terry Aff Speaks at 2014 UC Business Forum

 


Williamsburg, Ky. – On Wednesday, April 16, University of the Cumberlands (UC) Hutton School of Business hosted the 7th annual Business Forum for Young Professionals.

The business forum is designed to prepare young professionals as they enter the business workforce. Industry professionals share their professional experiences and discuss ways in which businesses can thrive, not just survive, in any financial climate. The theme for 2014 was “Shining a Light on Economic Recovery.”

One of the speakers was Terry Aff who is the Co-owner and President of Stardust Ventures. Aff has over 30 years’ experience in various engineering and engineering sales. Mr. Aff purchased his shares of Stardust Ventures (dba Stardust Cruisers) in 2010 and currently he is Co-owner and President. Located in Monticello, Kentucky, Stardust is a manufacturer of luxury houseboats and high efficiency modular homes.

He is also is a founding member of Roadway Concrete Products, LLC. Roadway was started in 2013 and has a patented process used in the construction of highway structures. After graduating from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Mr. Aff began his career as a Rocket Scientist at Sverdrup Technologies in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He then moved to General Motors and Robert Bosch Corporation serving in various engineering, management and sales functions.

The forum was founded by Mr. J. Hunt Perkins. Perkins, a geologist, is president of J. Hunt Perkins and Associates, Inc.; a Lexington firm established in 1983 that specializes in oil and gas exploration services, gas well drilling and field exploration services. A current member of Cumberlands Board of Trustees, his strong association with the university extends back to when his mother served more than ten years as the bursar for then Cumberland College.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; twelve graduate degrees, including two doctorate, two specialist and eight master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
