Erica Christian receives the Excellence in P-12 Education Award


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Erica Christian (London, KY) with the Excellence in P-12 Education Award during the 54th annual Honors Day Program on Sunday, April 21st.

She was also named to the University’s Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.70 cumulative grade point average standing.

Erica, the daughter of Chad and Sally Christian, will be graduated in May with dual certification in Elementary Education P – 5 and Special Education grades P - 12.

While at UC she has received Academic All-Conference awards and was nominated for the Champion of Character award for cheerleading. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education and has remained a member of the President’s and Dean’s lists throughout her time at UC.

Erica will be married to Mr. Mathew Gilbert in June 2013. Her future plans include teaching general or special education. She is also passionate about missions and is open to teaching abroad as a missionary.
