Dylan Brown Presents Senior Recital


Williamsburg, Ky. - On Monday, April 22nd, Dylan Brown presented his senior trumpet recital in the Nell Moore Recital Hall on the University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) campus.

Dylan performed many songs and solos, accompanied by Kay Dawn McFarland on piano. The UC Trumpet Ensemble and the Appalachian Brass Members were invited to perform as part of his recital as well.

Dylan played many pieces including selections from Concerto in E flat, Sonata for Trumpet and Piano, Sonata no. 1 for Solo Trumpet, and more. The UC Trumpet Ensemble played, “If Thou Be Near by,” Johan Sebastian Bach. Also, the Appalachian Brass group played, “Just a Closer Walk,” arranged by Don Gillis.

Members of the UC Trumpet Ensemble include Dylan Brown, Jacob Lovell, Nicki Howard, David Harris, Justin Byrd, and Dr. Patrick Tuck. Members of the Appalachian Brass Members include Dylan Brown, Michael Kitts, Michael Rice, Justin Byrd, and Dr. Lisa Lyford.

Dylan is a student of Dr. Patrick Tuck and this recital was given in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Music degree.

“I would like to thank all who came to my recital and everyone who has offered their support to me throughout the completion of my degree,” said Dylan, gratefully.
