Cumberlands Honors Retiree Donna Perkins


Williamsburg, Ky. – On Thursday, April 18th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) honored retiree Donna Perkins at the 21st annual Faculty-Staff Dinner.

Perkins was an employee at UC for the last 35 years working in several different capacities. During her time she was secretary to President James Boswell, worked in alumni services, development, religion, and chemistry departments. The last 21 years was spent as an administrative assistant to the chemistry, math, and physics departments.

“I have been totally blessed to have worked at UC for over 35 years,” said Perkins. “I have many fond memories of my time at UC and will cherish those memories for the rest of my life.”

In December of 2012 Perkins decided to retire to spend time with family and friends and to travel. Currently she lives in Williamsburg, KY with her husband Verlin. She has two children, Steven and Mary, and two grandchildren, Kaidence and Adyen.

She is an alumna, graduating from Cumberlands in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
