Roth presents senior art exhibit at University of the Cumberlands

Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) senior Jaclyn Roth presented her senior art exhibit this past week, April 8-13, in UC’s J.M. Boswell Art Gallery. A reception for Roth was hosted on Saturday, April 13, by the UC art department.

“My art is shaped by my reactions to controversial subjects including pollution, genetically modified foods, the monetary system, pharmaceutical companies, other forms of corruption, and above all, people’s ignorance towards these issues,” said Roth, who creates art in the hopes of changing perceptions and ideals. “I feel the best method for reaching people concerning these issues is through photography and abstract painting.

Roth has plans to move to the Knoxville or Nashville, Tenn. area after graduation, and hopes to find work in a museum. The Commack, NY native is majoring in art and minoring in psychology. She is the daughter of Linda and Stu Roth.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; twelve graduate degrees, including two doctorate, two specialist and eight master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
