Megan Smith Receives History and Political Science Award

 


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Megan Smith, of Williamsburg, was honored as the 2006 recipient of the History and Political Science Award during the Honors Day service held at University of the Cumberlands on April 24. The history and political science department annually awards students based on scholarship and service to the department and university.

While attending Cumberlands, Smith presented papers at three regional Phi Alpha Theta conferences and at the 2006 national conference in Philadelphia.

Smith graduated from the university in January of this year and plans to study law at University of Kentucky.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 117th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
