Wal-Mart speaks to UC students about Summer Internship

Williamsburg, Ky. – On Friday, March 1st University of the Cumberlands (UC) welcomed representatives from the local retail store Wal-Mart to campus to discuss their summer internship program. This informational session was held by UC’s Business and Career Services Departments.

The informational session was open to all UC students. In recent years, many UC graduates have gone on to participate in the program helping propel them into careers within the company or be more prepared as they moved on to other companies.

“We are one of the few campuses they come to recruit on,” said Business Department Chair Margaret Combs. “This provides a great resume builder for students because potential employers like to see that students’ have demonstrated their skills in the working environment.”

The Wal-Mart Internship program puts students in a position to make a difference with people and other businesses around the world. The program is open to recent graduates and soon to be college graduates. The internship allows students to take classroom learning and apply it to real world experiences.
