Campus Discovery Day to be Held at Cumberlands

Williamsburg, Ky. — University of the Cumberlands (UC) will hold its final Campus Discovery Day of the 2012-2013 academic year Saturday, Feb.16.

Each year, UC holds three Campus Discovery Days to introduce prospective students and their parents to many aspects of college life, including academics, faculty, athletics, campus activities, financial aid and the admissions process.

“On a typical Saturday, students do not often have the chance to meet with faculty and students, nor do they have the opportunity to visit classes and experience first-hand what the university has to offer,” said Erica Harris, Director of Admissions. “Because hectic work and school schedules prevent many families from visiting during the week, we want to expose them to as much as possible on these designated Saturdays,” Harris said.

For prospective students, Campus Discovery Day consists of a question-and-answer session with currently enrolled students, a session about college academics, and the opportunity to meet individually with professors in a departmental browsing session. There will also be tables set up for Athletics, Academic Affairs, Financial Planning, Student Services, Student Activities, Baptist Campus Ministries, and ROTC. The day will end with lunch and a tour of campus.

Registration will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. with Campus Discovery Day activities starting immediately after registration. For reservations or more information, call the Admissions Office at (606) 539-4241 or 1-800-343-1609. You may also reserve your spot online at www.ucumberlands.edu/admissions.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; twelve graduate degrees, including two doctorate, two specialist and eight master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
