Cumberlands' Phi Alpha Theta Holds Spring Initiation

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Upsilon-Upsilon held its spring initiation on April 26. Three students were inducted: Scott Fischer of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mary Osborne of Indianapolis, Ind., and Suekoilya Shelly of Watauga, Texas.

Founded in 1974, the Upsilon-Upsilon chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the international honor society in history, holds the distinction of being both the oldest and the most frequently honored society at University of the Cumberlands. As one of the most active organizations on campus, Upsilon-Upsilon sponsors a popular lecture series, fundraisers and social events and publishes the scholarly journal, “The Upsilonian.”

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 117th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, non-traditional programs for adults.
