Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

“The goal is to draw awareness to the issue and have as many people participate,” says Dr. Anita Bowman, Chairman of the Health, Exercise, and Sport Science department, organizer and supporter for BCAM at University of the Cumberlands. “Cancer has touched the lives of many people on this campus. The theme this year was changed to camouflage in hope that more gentlemen participate.”
