Williamsburg Commandery awards scholarship to Cumberland Student


Williamsburg, Ky. – On Monday, August 20th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) student Jarred Michael Storms (Rockholds, KY) was awarded a $1,000 dollar scholarship by the Williamsburg Grand Commandery of Kentucky Knights Templar and Williamsburg Lodge 490. Storms was presented with the award by Commander Larry Carte and Paul Steely.

“To be given this scholarship is an honor,” said Jarred. “This will be of great help to my financial situation.”

Storms is a UC junior majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Services. During his first two years at UC he was a member of the men’s junior varsity basketball team. He is a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Barbourville, Kentucky and is the son of Barb and Estle Storms. The Williamsburg Commandery plans to award a scholarship once a year to a UC junior or senior.
