Samantha Robb Earns Several Honors at Cumberlands


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented the Gorman Jones Campus Leadership award to Samantha Lucile Robb (Louisville, KY) during the annual Honors Day ceremonies on April 25th, 2011 in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

The Gorman Jones Campus Leadership award is presented to a graduating senior woman who exemplifies leadership as defined by the following statement, “Leadership is the ability to plan, organize, motivate and direct students towards goals consistent with the philosophy of the University.”

Candidates must be active participants in student activities, be in good academic standing, and are expected to receive her diploma in the May 2011 graduation exercises.

Robb also earned the Music Department’s Outstanding Senior Award. This award is presented to the senior music major who excels not only musically as a performer, but who also excels academically in his or her particular area of study.

In addition, Samantha earned the Excellence in P-12 Education Award and was recognized for High Honor for maintaining a minimum 3.85 grade point average.

While at the UC, Samantha has maintained a 4.0 GPA while being exceptionally active on campus. Samantha has been active with Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM), served as a peer tutor, and provided a significant contribution to local schools and churches.

Samantha is the daughter of Douglas and Elizabeth Robb. She will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music education.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
