Graduating Students' Art to be on Display

Williamsburg, Kentucky - Art abounds at University of the Cumberlands. The first of two senior exhibitions begins April 10 and runs through April 20, while the second runs April 24 through May 5 at the J. M. Boswell Art Gallery in Room 220 of the Andersen Building on campus.

Multiple media are represented in the pieces, including sculpture of wood, wire, plaster, and clay, as well as paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolor and drawings completed in conte, pastel, pencil, and charcoal. The collection of art majors' works reflects four years of efforts, both in and out of class.

Showcasing the work of Rob Wilson, Daniel Warren, and Meadi Shotwell, the first exhibit opens with a reception held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 10. The second exhibit, featuring the art of Josh Turner, Beth Wooley, and Heather Gardner, offers a reception from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26. A graduation reception will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 5.

Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and admission is free. For more information, contact the Art Department at 606-539-4416.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 117th year of operation.
