Steffan Crowe Receives Physical Education Award at UC


Williamsburg, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands (UC) student Steffan Crowe was honored for outstanding achievement when he received the 2012 Physical Education Award at the UC Honors Day Convocation on Monday, April 23rd, at the O. Wayne Rollins Center. Crowe was also recognized for Honor for maintaining a grade point average above 3.70.

Crowe was also named to the Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges. Who’s Who is open to juniors and seniors who have been selected by the faculty and staff. These students have excelled in one or more of the following areas: participation and leadership in academic and extracurricular activities; citizenship and service to the school and community; and potential for future achievement.

In his four years at UC, Crowe has been a member of the tennis team where he has served as a team captain since 2011. In his college career he has been inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Freshmen Honor Society, the J.T. Vallandingham Honor Society, and the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society.

His future plans include teaching P.E. or Health, coaching tennis at the high school level, and enrolling in graduate school to pursue his master’s degree.

Crowe currently has a 3.81 GPA with a double major in Physical and Health Education. He is the son of Eddie and Teresa Crowe of Carlisle, Ohio.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
