UC Music Student Logan Butler Honored for Excellence


Williamsburg, Ky. – The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Music Department presented the Phyllis Richardson Wood Music Scholarship Award to Logan Butler (Albany, KY) at Honors Day Convocation on Monday, April 23rd, in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

The Phyllis Richardson Wood Scholarship is given in honor of the late Phyllis Richardson Wood, an active supporter of the UC Music Department. Candidates for this honor must be at the sophomore level or higher and must be a music major who excels in the areas of academics or performance.

Butler will perform with the Music Faculty in the Phyllis Richardson Wood Scholarship concert that will be presented in the fall of 2012. He is a senior Instrumental Music Education major and is the son of David and Donna Butler of Albany, Ky.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
