William Marshall Earns Business Administration Award at Cumberlands


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) student William Marshall (Lynch, KY) was the recipient of the Edward L. Hutton School of Business (HSB) Administration Award on Monday, April 23rd, at UC’s annual Honors Day Convocation.

Marshall was also recognized for High Honor for maintaining a grade point average above 3.85, and was named to the University’s Highest Honor, the J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society. Inductees must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better.

Marshall is a member of the UC chapter of Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business and Administration and was a member of the UC varsity football team for four years. In recognition of his academic achievements, Marshall received the team’s 2012 Academic Achievement Award and was named Academic All-Conference by the Mid-South Conference.

While at UC, Marshall was an active participant in campus and volunteer activities, including the HSB Business Club and the HSB Relay for Life team.

Marshall is the son of Lisa Kyle of Lynch, Ky., and is a graduate of Cumberland High School. He completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in December 2011 and is currently employed by Van Meter Insurance in Bowling Green, Ky.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
