UC's CAB Presents Spring Fever

Williamsburg, Ky. – As yet another school year winds down with finals just around the corner, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Campus Activities Board presents “Spring Fever 2012: All That”. The week of April 16-20 will feature daily activities and events designed for students all across campus.

This year’s theme, “All That” (a throwback to 90’s television), will begin on Monday April 16 with “Heatbox” at 8pm in Gatliff. Known as a crossover between Motown, A cappalla, R&B, Hip Hop, Soul and Funk; “Heatbox” is a beatboxer who uses no tracks, samples or pre-recorded music.

On Tuesday the 17th, campus favorite Frederick Winters returns. Performing in Gatliff, the mentalist will entertain audiences beginning at 8pm.

The series finale of the popular campus show “Cumberland Idol” will be live in Gatliff at 8pm on Wednesday April 18th. Directly following the announcement of the season five winner, those in the audience will be able to perform before the crowd themselves with the third annual “Live Band Karaoke”; an even open to anyone in attendance. The event can be watched live at www.ucumberlands.edu.

The Student Government Association (SGA) will be sponsoring “Cumberlands Movie Night” for students on Thursday April 19th. Held at the London, Ky. Cinemas, students will be able to see the 9pm movie showing of their choice for free of charge, thanks to SGA. Shuttle services will also be provided.

Rounding out the week’s events on Friday April 20th will be “Freebie Friday”. This week’s giveaway will be “Dippin’ Dots” from 11am – 1pm in the Mid BCC.

Spring Fever events are open to all UC faculty, staff, and students with a valid UC ID card! Many events are also open to the general public as well. More information on CAB’s “All That” Spring Fever can be found at their website, www.ucumberlands.edu/cab.
