Cumberland Idol Holds Royalty Night

Williamsburg, Ky. – On Tuesday, March 6th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) Cumberland Idol was back in the spotlight for Royalty of Music Night. Contestants had to choose a song from the likes of Michael Jackson (King of Pop), Aretha Franklin (Queen of Soul), Elvis Presley (King of Rock), and Whitney Houston (Queen of Pop).

There were many great performances by the contestants in front of a packed house in the Gatliff Chapel on the UC campus. The students, faculty/staff, community, and judges were treated to some pleasant surprises as everyone had one last shot to perform before eliminations began.

At the end of the show everyone was brought back out on stage to learn their fates as three would no longer be with them after that night. In just one week’s worth of voting the tally of votes was over 48,000 and the fans were decisive in their picks.

Voting for the remaining contestants opened as soon as the show ended on Tuesday and will be open until midnight on Friday, March 23rd. Anyone wishing to place their final votes can go to Voting is unlimited.

The next Cumberland Idol will be on Tuesday, March 27th, at 8:00 pm in the Gatliff Chapel. It will be a night of surprises for everyone as it will be Judges Choice Night. Judges will select the song that each contestant will perform.
