University of the Cumberlands Crowns Homecoming Royalty


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — On October 29, the halftime highlight of the University of the Cumberlands’ Homecoming game, in which the Patriots defeated the Belhaven College Blazers 58-0, was the crowning of Homecoming Queen Kendra McCollum, and the naming of Homecoming King David Intal.

McCollum is a Business Administration major and is the daughter of Rob and Gina McCollum of Berea, Ky.

Intal is a Human Services major and is the son of Robledo and Samoevn Intal of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

University of the Cumberlands welcomed back alumni, current students, their family and friends, as well as members of the community during the Annual Homecoming and Family Weekend event.

This year’s event, “Thriller Weekend” featured a weekend of thriller-related fun. Class reunions, musicals, a carnival, a football game, fireworks, an outdoor movie, a worship service and more were available! A special reunion for the classes of ’61, ’66, ’71, ’76, ’81, ’86, ’91, ’96, ’01, ’06, and ’11highlighted the weekend activities.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees; more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
