Husband Memorializes Late Wife with Named Scholarship at Cumberlands


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Dr. Wayne Moore, retired Assistant to the President at University of the Cumberlands then Cumberland College and Georgetown, Ky. resident, established the Rita Moore Endowed Scholarship Fund at Cumberlands following her death on April 27, 2001.

The Moore’s moved to Williamsburg in 1992, in positions of church relations and admissions office manager, respectively. Within her work, Rita Moore supervised a number of students in their workstudy responsibilities. She came to love many of them dearly. The Rita Moore Fund is designed to assist financially, future workstudy students in the admissions area, or wherever needed.

Thanks to a number of friends and family, the Rita Moore Endowed Scholarship Fund has grown to over $14,000 and several students have received financial assistance through this fund.

Tax deductible donations may be made to the Rita Moore Endowed Scholarship Fund by sending a financial gift to University of the Cumberlands, 1691 College Station Drive, Williamsburg, Kentucky, 40769.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
