University of the Cumberlands to observe Patriot Day for 9/11 ceremony

Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) will conduct a commemoration ceremony for the victims of 9/11 on Friday, September 9, 2011 in Patriot Park at the Hutton School of Business. The program will begin at 12:00 noon.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. The inclement weather site will be in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

COL (Ret.) Michael Farley, a veteran of the Global War on Terror and a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands, will be the featured speaker.

During the ceremony the UC Marching Band will include a musical tribute to the lives lost during the Attack on America in 2001 and will honor the sacrifices American troops have made in defending America.

In observance of Patriot Day, the program will include a Military Retreat and Flag Folding Ceremony conducted by the University’s Army ROTC Unit.
