Athletic Hall of Fame

The 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception will be held during Homecoming Weekend. Please join us on Friday evening, September 27th in the Grace Crum Rollins Fine Arts Center to honor and celebrate our 2024 inductees:
  • Isabella Dale, Class of 2017, Women's Tennis
  • Ben Kendrick, Class of 2018, Men's Golf
  • Kaitlyn Riley, Class of 2018, Women's Golf
  • Eric Tisdol, Class of 2010, Football/Track & Field 

In 1996, the Alumni Board of Directors established the Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame as a way to recognize outstanding athletic accomplishment. Individual alumni and coaches, as well as entire teams, are eligible for induction. Each year, inductees are honored during a half-time ceremony at a University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College) home game. Members of the Hall of Fame are further honored by having their names inscribed on a bronze plaque, on permanent display in the O.Wayne Rollins Center. 

Nominations:

If you would like to nominate a former player, coach or outstanding team for induction into the Hall of Fame, please complete the form below and send it in before June 30th for consideration each year.

Criteria:

Alumni who have:

  • Made a significant impact on a particular team, or
  • Made a significant impact on the overall athletic program, or
  • Exhibited outstanding athletic ability, or
  • Attained significant athletic accomplishments.

Teams that have:

  • Won a national championship, or
  • Had an undefeated record during regular season competition, or
  • Received a #1 national ranking.

Coaches who have:

  • Made a significant contribution to the personal success of his/her players, or
  • Attained significant career accomplishments.

Individuals who have:

  • Made an outstanding contribution to support the overall athletic program, or
  • Achieved significant athletic accomplishments.
Eligibility:
  • Alumni may be considered beginning in the sixth year following their projected date of graduation.
  • Team eligibility will be determined based on alumni eligibility criteria and any special circumstances.
  • Current members of the University of the Cumberlands Coaching staff are not eligible for consideration, unless special circumstances merit.
  • individuals may be considered based on significant merit.
Nominations:
  • All nominations must meet the eligibility criteria listed above and must be accompanied by documentation of all such criteria.
  • Nominations with supporting documentation must be submitted for consideration.

Cumberlands Athletes have competed according to the guidelines determined by the following organizations:

  • The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA)
  • The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC)
  • The Mid-South Conference (MSC)

Nominate a Distinguished Alumni

Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented each year by the University Alumni Association to alumni whose exceptional achievements and careers reflect the highest values embraced and promoted by the University and the Alumni Association. The award recipients have distinguished themselves as University of the Cumberlands Notable Alumni through contributions made in their fields of work, professional or public service, or in the betterment of humanity.

Nominate alumni for UC Hall of Distinguished Alumni Awards


You are invited to submit a nomination for the annual Hall of Distinguished Alumni Awards that include Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni. Awards are presented annually during the Alumni Luncheon on the Saturday of Homecoming. Nominations should be received by May 1st of each year for consideration by the Alumni Board’s Awards Committee and are considered active for a three-year period.
 

Award Criteria


Distinguished Alumni Award

  • Individual must clearly demonstrate outstanding personal, civic, or professional achievements.
  • Individual brings honor and recognition to the alma mater through profession or service.
  • Individual of strong personal character, moral conviction, and Christian faith.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

  • Individual having attended or graduated no more than fifteen years from date of consideration.
  • Individual whose achievements in career, public service and volunteer activities are worthy of recognition and have brought honor to the University.
  • Individual of strong personal character, moral conviction, and Christian faith.

 
This form must be received no later than May 1st for consideration by the UC Alumni Board during a calendar year. All nominations will be considered active for a three-year period. Nominations will be held in confidence. The committee reserves the right to request follow-up information for any nomination. The committee reserves the right to present particular awards during any calendar year.
