Requirements  Announement #: PERM-OCR-JC-1710-05/07/09-G PERM-OCR-JC-1710-05/07/09-DP Teacher canidates must possess at the time of hire, the required secondary-level Teacher certification and/or endorsements for the state (KENTUCKY) where the job Corps center is located. Required teacher certification and/or endorsement must be maintained throughout the duration of appointment. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Proof of education, license, endorsment, hiring preference, prior federal service, and entitlement eligibility MUST be attached to the AVUE application to be considered. We will make a request for the referral listing around January 3, 2012, and expect to make a final job offer to selected canidates within 60-90 days after the issuance of the referral list.
Responsibilities  The position is located on a forest service job corps civilian conservation center, The incumbent serves as teacher, developing and instructing courses at the elementary and secondary level. The training, education, and experience of a professional teacher is necessary to accomplish the duties of this position. The incumbent assists sudents and subordinates in understanding the relevance of appropriate social and employability skills to workplace sucess. Promotes standards of conduct which are expected and accepted in the workplace. Participates in the behavioral managment system as necessary to insure proper workplace appearance and behavior. Independently develops, organizes, and instructs formal education courses at the elementary and secondary level. Plans and teaches classes in subjects including, but not limited to, reading, mathmatics, general educational development (GED), language skills, and health education.
