Position  Associate Editor
Requirements  College degree with minimum of two-year’s experience in writing and editing for print and digital publications, expertise in shooting photos (videos a plus), flexibility to travel statewide on assignments, understanding of Southern Baptist churches and the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
Responsibilities   Manage weekly production of the newspaper, including page design and layout;  Have a solid understanding of news design principles and competence with Adobe InDesign;  Generate well-written news and feature stories, as assigned;  Demonstrate ability to take quality photos and edit using Adobe Photoshop;  Supervise the work of freelance writers and photographers, as needed;  Select and edit news articles and feature stories, in consultation with the editor;  Embrace digital media platforms and post content to website and Facebook page;  Be familiar with Associated Press style and maintain consistent style throughout publication;  Coordinate the placement and representation of print advertising;  Supervise the production of special sections, inserts and partnership newspapers;  Keep abreast of relevant state and national Baptist news;  Have a reputation for accuracy and fairness in reporting and working well with others under deadline pressure.
