On my dry-erase board I wrote:“What’s your story?...” because that is a theme BCM is pursuing among all people on campus. We truly desire to listen and to share our stories! I left my dorm and returned to find that someone had actually written a response! “I was scared to death; The Lord comforted me.” I immediately decided to share as well. I left and returned to find a third response: “I was worthless; He gave me purpose.” I smiled as I entered the suite. After work, another testimony had been written: “My husband lost his job, I had to have surgery, and unexpected bills have hit my family in the last two years. But my Father has been faithful to us and seen to our every need. Praise God!” Awe, thankfulness, and happiness came over me as I stared at the board. How amazing that God had allowed a dry-erase board and a heart-felt question to be an outlet for a handful of people- in my own dorm- to share just a portion of their story! Two more stories were shared: “I was (literally) blind; Jesus gave me sight!" and “I was depressed and He brought me peace.” It is apparent that people are longing to share their “story,” whether they consciously realize it or not. I praise God that people are also willing to give God glory for His work in their lives!
