The University of the Cumberlands is a small, private, Southern Baptist, liberal arts university located in Williamsburg, Kentucky on I-75. Williamsburg is a small, friendly town of about 6,000 people.
A liberal arts education is a broad-based education in which a student studies a variety of different subjects in addition to concentrating on a particular area of study. The liberal arts education prepares the student for a lifetime of opportunities and changes.
Enrollment for the 2014-2015 academic year for undergraduates is 2,655, which includes full-time and part-time students. UC also has graduate degree programs and degree-completion programs. Altogether UC has over 5,737 this academic year.

UC’s application requirements are a complete application, an application fee of $30, an official transcript with GPA or official GED scores, and an ACT or SAT score. The Acceptance and Scholarship Committee reviews each applicant individually.
Each student is considered individually for admissions. The Admissions and Scholarship Committee considers courses taken, grade trends, extra curricular involvement, etc.
University of the Cumberlands does not require a foreign language as an admission requirement.
For the 2014-2015 enrolled freshman the average GPA was 3.4. The average ACT score was a 22, and the average SAT score was a 980.
It is recommended that you start taking the ACT or SAT during your junior year in high school. We recommend that you take the test more than once.
Within 5 years of graduation, 66% of our alums have completed or are working on a graduate degree.

UC offers a free tutoring program at the Academic Resource Center. To get more information please visit the ARC webpage. Faculty are also available outside of class to offer assistance.
UC has computer labs in most academic buildings including our library. We also have labs in some of the residence halls. You may bring your own computer if you wish. All residence hall rooms have wired and wireless Internet access. Wireless access is available inside all buildings on campus.

Yes, 70% of undergraduate students live on campus. UC is a residential campus. All students are required to live on campus except those who meet certain requirements. To live off campus, a student must either be 22 years of age, married, have children, or live with parents. Yes, freshmen are allowed to have cars on campus. A $15 parking permit is required for all students that have a car on campus.

University of the Cumberlands has 13 sports for men and 13 for women, as well as a coed cheerleading team and a dance team. Athletic teams include men’s and women’s archery, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, fast pitch softball, football, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track, volleyball, and men’s and women’s wrestling.
