
Dr. Gary Pate
Associate Professor of Education

Dr. Gary Pate, an alumnus of University of the Cumberlands, graduated with a B.S. in History in 1972. He continued his education at Appalachian State University, completing an M.A. in Educational Administration in 1977, and later earned two other degrees: the first in 1982, an Ed.S. in Educational Administration from Western Carolina University, and the second in 1985, an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
In 2000, when Dr. Pate returned to UC as a member of the faculty, he brought with him many years’ experience as a teacher and a school principal. He is most familiar to the local community for having served as principal of Williamsburg Elementary for five years.
