Kristy Keefe, PsyD
Associate Professor of Pyschology
Kristy Keefe is an Associate Professor of Psychology at University of the Cumberlands and a licensed psychologist in the states of Kentucky (H.S.P.) and Indiana. She joined the faculty in August of 2010. She obtained her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin and her M.A. and Psy.D. from the University of Indianapolis. She is passionate about training new professionals in clinical work / counseling and teaches courses in psychological theory, individual and group counseling techniques, assessment, and multicultural aspects. Her training and expertise encompasses several years as a therapist at university counseling centers including her APA accredited internship at Miami University and post-doctoral residency at Purdue University. Dr. Keefe specialized in psychotherapy supervision and assessment, and college students dealing with serious mental illness, eating disorders, and ADHD & LDs. Her research interests involve therapist development and supervision, delusion proneness and cognitive decision making, and CBT with psychotic disorders. She is active in the Kentucky Psychological Association, currently directing the KPA Early Career Psychologists Mentoring Program, and occasionally provides disability assessments for the state of Kentucky. Her family roots are in both Wisconsin and Arkansas.
